The present paper proposes to resume and analyze the principle of subsidiarity, in order to demonstrate that only through its practice can the deficiencies suffered by the exercise of authority over social networks be corrected. Specifically, what is of interest is to confront the practical consequences that arise from the dynamics of subsidiarity with the different ways of exercising power according to State models, whether liberal or collectivist. In this case, tend to the phenomenon of populism, fundamentally in its theoretical formulation, ensuring as a conclusion that the theoretical current that serves as a philosophical framework for the phenomenon of populism implies a logic that turns the principle of subsidiarity unfeasible, with the consequent loss or frustration of fundamental rights.
