Representación política y sistema electoral / Political Representation and Electoral System

Resumen

Considerando al sistema electoral como la clave del sistema republicano, se analizan en el texto el concepto de representación política, desde sus orígenes histórico–ideológicos y los sistemas electorales en su conceptualización teórica, caracteres y consecuencias de su implementación. Concluye el trabajo con un breve desarrollo histórico de los sistemas electorales en nuestro país y en la actualidad, y propuestas en la materia.

Considering that the electoral system is a key aspect of the republican system, it is analyzed in this article the concept of the political representation –from its historical and ideological origins–, and the concept of the electoral systems, its characteristics and the consequences of its implementation. This paper ends with a historical brief on the development of the electoral systems in our country and with some proposals to improve it.
